In the area of originality, a lot of different things can be said however there needs to be a basis, where bringing music, poetry or books from your inner artist has a start. It starts off with being able to create a new concept and original content not based on somebody else's work.

Not all lyrics are created equal — and knowing the difference between forms will sharpen your craft. Are you writing a verse or a hook? A poem or a rap? A freestyle or a written track? Understanding these distinctions lets you bend the rules — instead of breaking them blindly.

• Verse vs. Hook: Verses tell the story, hooks are the emotional catch. The hook should be memorable and repeatable; the verse dives deeper.

• Poetry vs. Lyrics: Poetry often stands alone on the page; lyrics exist to be performed with music. Lyrics must balance rhythm and rhyme with melody.

• Freestyle vs. Written: Freestyle taps spontaneity and rawness, but writing allows refinement. Both have value, but serve different purposes.

• Bridge vs. Chorus: Bridges provide contrast and movement; choruses bring resolution and repetition.

Genre also matters. A trap verse relies on rhythmic repetition and mood. A conscious rap might focus on storytelling and message. A ballad leans on emotional expression and melody.

Mastering these forms means you can mix and match, invent your style, and keep your listeners engaged. Know what you’re writing. Then write it better than anyone else.
